CARÁ did not start out as an app. Opened in early 2022, CARÁ was primarily a health and well-being center in Tallinn, offering women approximately 20 high-quality services ranging from pregnancy-/postpartum yoga, gynecology appointments, and home visits to massages.
However, to this date offering support to over 700 women and intensive communication with them, the team noticed the real pain point of women during the maternity period - the highly fragmented maternity system, which is time-consuming, expensive and through the disconnect created more errors to a women health and well-being than to support it.
Studies supported the thesis, showing that a woman on average uses 12 different sources, to find one of her health and well-being-related complaints. Yet, when taking a whole woman, holistic approach there is not one solution for all women. On average, you can find approximately 10 - 15 different solutions to the complaints. Additionally, these different sources are not 12 different articles you find on Google, but Google itself is only one of the 12 different sources. Other sources that have been listed among others are a midwife, gynecologist, practitioners, an app, YouTube, and stores.
We encountered that this is not just a problem for women in Tallinn, but globally, and therefore we needed to come up with a solution to reach and support as many women as possible. This was when we created the concept of our app, which can be downloaded globally and support women worldwide.

And if you encounter complaints during your journey, we will tell you how to support yourself or where to find support. All evidence-based, all written by medical professionals.
