Lecture: Breastfeeding – A Conscious Start for Mother and Baby

Breastfeeding is a journey that can be different for every mother and baby. It may come easily or require more learning and support. Regardless of the experience, proper preparation and good support are key to making this experience as comfortable and positive as possible for both mother and child.

In this lecture, our midwife, Kärt Laanejärv, will share practical knowledge and tips to help initiate and continue breastfeeding more smoothly. We will discuss skin-to-skin contact, the benefits of breastfeeding, proper latch techniques, as well as potential challenges and how to overcome them.

Additionally, we will cover the postpartum period—a time when a woman's body and mind adjust to a major change. This is a period when recovery and emotional well-being are just as important as caring for the baby. We will talk about how to support yourself in this new stage and when to seek help to make this transition as balanced and peaceful as possible.

This lecture is held in Estonian. However, you can cover the topics in English with our midwife via our private family school appointment.
